ll nome Pan dell’Orso è un regalo del poeta scannese Marco Notarmuzi.
Oggi Pan dell’Orso è una specialità scannese; un dolce che regala il sapore della tradizione e parla del territorio.
Several years ago a group of shepherds made their way to the warm lands of the South. According to tradition, every shepherd should be given a saddlebag containing sweet, aromatic almond and honey cakes by his beloved: one for each month away from home. Legend has it that the group of shepherds who led the flock to the Apulian lands was attacked by a bear that chose to eat the cakes and leave the sheep free.
The name Pan dell’Orso is a tribute from the poet Marco Notarmuzi from Scanno.
Today Pan dell’Orso is a speciality of Scanno; a cake that has a traditional flavour and evokes the surrounding countryside.
